A team of Jenks High School student athletes triumphed in the 2nd annual Tulsa Rowing Club Juniors High School Invitational held April 19. Andrew Pate, Brooke Myers, Dakota Wilkin, Liz Snyder and Kevin Marshall competed in a variety of boats ranging from singles to eights to win the event over strong competition from Holland Hall and Edison.

The Holland Hall team received the “Spirit, Sportsmanship and Teamwork” award, presented by the Tulsa Rowing Club Juniors Board of Directors. Throughout the regatta, forty athletes from twelve different high schools competed on the Arkansas River over a 500m course.

Head coach Neil Bergenroth said of the regatta, “I’m pleased with the performance of all of our athletes. I’m hopeful that we can attract more interest in youth rowing as we build and grow our program over the summer”.

Tulsa Rowing Club Juniors will be running two summer camps to allow high school athletes aged 13-18 to experience the sport for the first time. Camp dates are as follows:

Camp I – June 23rd – July 3rd (6pm – 8pm)
Camp II – August 11th – 22nd (4:15pm – 6pm)
